A good sink is nearly maintenance-free — but a few simple habits keep it bright for years and protect your warranty.
Every day
- Rinse after use and wipe dry with a soft cloth. Most “stains” are just dried mineral water spots.
- Don’t leave wet steel wool, tins or cast-iron pans sitting in the bowl — they can leave rust marks that are not the sink’s own rust.
Once a week
- Clean with mild dishwashing liquid and a soft sponge, following the grain of the steel.
- For a shine, a little diluted white vinegar removes hard-water film; rinse and dry after.
What to avoid
- Harsh chemicals — bleach, and strong acids or drain cleaners left sitting in the bowl.
- Abrasive pads and powders on glossy finishes — they dull the shine.
- Leaving salty or acidic food (lemon, pickle, curd) drying on the surface for long periods.
Matt vs glossy
A matt finish is forgiving — light scratches blend in and water spots barely show. A glossy finish stays brightest when wiped dry after use. Quartz sinks like a soft brush and a mild cleaner; avoid abrasive scrubbing.
Hard water spots
White, chalky marks are mineral deposits, not damage. Wipe with diluted vinegar, rinse and dry — they lift straight off.
